A great idea, but the insane "because we can" price will keep me from ever buying one and the $2.50 of pure profit that's built into the $3.50 shipping charge doesn't help anything, either.

This one is for certified ebay shopaholics and not for real stackers.

You are aware that ebay takes a percentage of the shipping fee as a final value fee correct? Not to mention Paypal charges a flat fee and another percentage on top of that. If they purchase the label through ebay, it's $1.64, otherwise $1.95 at the PO counter. Add to that whatever the cost of shipping materials are, and you hardly have "$2.50 of pure profit".

/end rant.

You're right and I'll admit being short of sympathy for ebay sellers.

I'll yield that issue, but this one stays on my "not gonna happen" list and I still see it as one for certified ebay shopaholics and not for real stackers or
collectors. It'd be tempting as a 1 oz .999 silver round with a $4 premium, but the present offering strikes me as a waste of 2/3 of the price of an ASE.
I'll just kick in the additional $12, buy another ASE and feel good about having made the right move.

But you have to hand it the person making this item, they saw an opportunity and took advantage of it.

They make clear it is not a legit coin.

Well, Ken 'Ya believe All Uh the ones that have sold already?

I couldn't help it - the puns popped into my head while I revisiting the thread to see the comments.

I agree if it were silver it would have been more interesting. But somehow an overpriced coin made of a metal with no inherent value seems more apropos in this case - on more than one level.
