Hey guys, Here is a shot from my custom nickel album. I took a blank four page dansco, and custom labled it, one page for shield, one liberty, two buffalo. Kind of got the idea from hondo posting it a while back. I used transfer rub on paper. The label part isn't as noticable with the naked eye as it is with the picture. Customs are cool, you can see I added a racketeer spot on the liberty page. I would love to do a kennedy also, or a proof franklin. This year I want to focus on finsihing a bunch of albums, rather then start a new one, anyone know what I mean....lol. Aside from my walking liberty, still need several, Iv got a bunch of albums I just need 5 or less coins to complete.

Very nice looking. What kind of "transfer rub on paper?" I have no experience with this. Smart idea combining those three sets of nickels into one album.

Hmm, I don't know what no FG means. Can someone please explain? I don't really collect Kennedy's though. But have 4 proofs and two non-proofs.

@solotime: A normal Kennedy half has the initials of the REV's designer on the back: Look just to the right where the eagle's tailfeathers start descending from his body and you see small FG The No FG errors do not have this: This may be due to polishing of the dies - or I have heard (but do not know) that maybe the original die did not have an FG - but need to take the time to google this and find out. I also know that some of the ones showing up on ebay are said to be No FG, yet you can see the FG in their pics!

You can get the sheets at decal paper . com. They have a video of how to do it, you print off your text in "reverse", to get it to transfer right.
I did one for canadian nickels, and I have one for the canadian penny set as well. Its a nice little project for a winter weekend if you dont have any coins to sort.

Will do! Just ordered the blank pages and gonna grab the albums later this coming week. I actually have used the rub on letters also. My dad has a collection of Roosevelt dimes in an old blue Whitman album. It stopped I think in 1961 so I bought the Whitman gold rub on letters for him to add the holes through 1964. They work really well also.

Earle, have you considered getting thumb-cut pages and using Mylar flips? BadThad and I both have cent albums that are done this way (I yanked the idea from him) and I'm very pleased with mine--it has my cents in the front, then a couple of extra pages in the back that hold my silver (there isn't enough of it to make it worth having its own box, but there's too much to toss it in the Box of Non-Cents Miscellany). At some point in the future I want to get one of those P-Touch machines and label the slots I know will not be moving around (now that my Lincoln set is 2/3 complete I'll simply add IHC pages as needed, rather than rearrange every time I get a new IHC date). That was suggested to me by someone else on the forum when I first set up this album and now that I see how it looks, I definitely like the result.

Sure thing - here is what I sent to nina: "I assume you are talking about these: I have a bunch with 2X2's. Years ago I had a lot of coins in the pockets with Scotch "Magic Tape" across the tops of the pockets to hold the coins in. All was well as long as it was always kept stored upright. This was all before we knew PVC caused the icky green slime to form on coins. I had a lot of cleaning up to do. :( Overall I like this system, but have a few complaints: 1. After awhile the weight of the coins does tend to rip even the Cowens brand - which is the toughest out there. 2. Album-sized pages take up a lot less space for storage. I am presently using 2X2's and these sheets for my best stuff. But I had bought the (el cheapo price - but great in my opinion) Wizard Coin albums that helped me rescue the coins from the thumbcut sheets until I could get them into 2X2s and back into the thumbcuts. I found I like the size of albums so much more, but hate the cardboard as I lost coins to this also in the past in Whitman folders! I am thinking of making my own triple layer plexiglass album pages. If they work I might even decide to take orders if someone else likes them." edited for syntax after proofreading here. Wow nina - I sure hope you could make sense out of the version I sent you! Can I lay blame on that I just found out I forgot my meds - or do I have to just admit to being inept

yeah, I messed up a few times while mapping it out on paper... it totally ruins the whole thing. I need to measure twice and cut once.

Ah, my third box is not a total failure. Found a 1972-D No FG half. Pretty happy with that.
