To me anyways...the mint placing the restrictions on a # of coins in the June releases...seems to have dulled the star's shine a little...not a bad thing...just a little reboot....there will be some hits and sometimes a lot of misses....buy what you're eye likes and your heart wants...you won't go wrong... Shows the mint does hear the cry's of it's people....now more coins will be sold at list price...

Shows the mint does hear the cry's of it's people....now more coins will be sold at list price... It is the Mint that is going to suffer the most. No sellouts means more inventory. Unsold coins means less profit for the Mint. 2nd, the customer will suffer if they decide to resell their coins for whatever reason. They will have problems finding buyers for coins no one wants, except with a heavy discount.

That is nothing new... customers have been experiencing the realities of a secondary market, since buying mint products from 1971 onwards...

For what it's worth, my collecting philosophy has always been: Collect what you like. Try to pay as little as possible (not always possible). Don't expect to make a profit if you ever sell. Be happy if you end up breaking even. Expect you probably will take a loss (or at least you heirs will if they sell). Most importantly, enjoy your collection (whatever it might be) while you have it.

First post just to say I agree 100 % with NuMoosematist`s philosophy... The most important thing for me is that I AM ENJOYING MY COLLECTION RIGHT NOW whatever happen in the future !

Welcome Wheely! Thanks for your first post. I'm glad that you're enjoying your collection and not worrying about future market ups and downs. I look forward to your future participation here! One thing I forgot to mention is that collecting should always be FUN!

I really like the Bronze Coin - Canada: An Allegory (2013). Not sure if it's going to sell out, but I broke my rule and ordered a couple...
