Yeah - if the enders are old coins, how do we know that the middle is modern?
Listings like that are 100% scams.

It's clearly a scam...look at his feedback! How many rolls can this guy possibly get with silver enders?!

I fail to see how this is a scam.
Auction starts at 99 cents and it is a bank roll with a 90% half showing on one end. He is showing a pic of what you will receive. He makes no claims that you will receive anything other than what is shown.

How could he claim what is in the roll w/o opening it? That is part of the scam!

Quote: How could he claim what is in the roll w/o opening it? That is part of the scam! It is billed as ann "Unsearched Kennedy half dollar roll" yet it has a Walker half on one end....sooooo how does he know what the other 18 coins are? ...and "Direct from a Federal Reserve Bank vault" (?) so the Fed now sent a box of halves in the late 1970's (or later) with mixed coins dating back to the 1940's (or earlier) Bogus....worth $9.50 + the value of the silver half Not really a scam because it says what it is (except for the FED part) ...no promises...lets the gambler make their own decisions

No disagreement on the $9.50 + silver half. Here is why it's a scam. Go look at the guy's feedback. Look how many of these rolls he has sold. He is either the luckiest guy around or he is making these rolls himself. Lets go with he is making the rolls. Therefore, they are not unsearched.

I'm not trying to hijack this post, but, I think I have a truly unsearched roll bought off of ebay. There is an 1893 Columbian Comm. on one end and the reverse of a WL on the other. I know, I know, but this is the kicker. My roll weighs 241.2 grams. So I think some are real. IMHO anyway.

The roll looks too modern (I don't actually know how 50s rolls looked, but I doubt they'd have our contemporary rectangles of colour and be so perfect).
But if you got it for a low enough price, who cares?

Incredible!! SOMEHOW, a transit token dated from 1956 was placed in a penny roll... then a Half Dime (last produced 1873)... and to top it off, at the other end of this roll from at least 1956 is an astonishingly well-preserved cent from 1909 (which has been in circulation for at least 50 years)!! Isn't it just amazing how careless some people are when rolling coins?

Well if the seller of my roll is actually rolling his own, he happens to be the person listed in the beginning of this thread, I wonder if he loaded this one specifically for the feedback? Normal rolls I think are only 226 grams, so if this has more silver in it, then it could be 75% silver coins with a mix of 40% and 90%. Just my guess, but I'm saving it for a rainy day.

I think these are a scam and I'd rather play the Lottery. I bought 2 rolls from the seller in the OP. 1 roll with a walking liberty and the other had a Franklin half dollar. The 38 other coins were very circulated Kennedy's ranging from 1972 to 2001. I think this guy is re-rolling the rolls baiting one end with a well worn silver half dollar and something like 1976 Bi-centennial Kennedy on the other end. Then filling the middle with junk.

I've read on an article online somewhere that coins in rolls and jars in estate sales are fine because, after all, there is a reason that the person collected them in the first place and, chances are, are truly unsearched.
