So I'm at square one and I got 5 collector cards and 5$ of loose quarters in a zip lock bag... They are refusing to give out rolls.. Very dissapointed at that... No lineups or anything I was there and gone in a minute.. Apparently they've posted on Facebook that they are not giving out rolls...

Just got back from Square One; one roll of each variety per person (i.e. a total of four rolls), plus 5 free cards. Also you can just exchange a loonie for a card with four different quarters.

I got all four rolls, 5 cards, and a card full of loose quarters; also previously ordered some sealed ones on the web. Since you are not paying any premium, you can't really go overboard, I guess.

Tips:

1) Check your coins and rolls, and don't end up with two of the same variety (the only difference is in the selected frosting; happened with my "life in the north" single).

2) Do sign up for the mint lottery at the coin store downstairs.

3) Want a pic or two with the mint girls? Bring or find and grab a cute infant, and in case of the latter, pretend it to be yours...

Really, piroz? I went really early, I think I was the second person there, and they were happily giving away rolls at that time...

Really...

So they are no longer giving out any rolls for those going to the square one location. Apparently they were running low and felt they would not have enough for the whole weekend event. I was told however that at 7pm sunday if there were rolls leftover they would be willing to give them out then..

I beat you by exactly an hour :). May be you guys should call them up and express your disgust. We are not asking for much here, just don't make promises if you can't keep them.

Interesting do many people show up at these mint events? If so it may mean coin collecting isn't in demise if there's plenty of interest in the exchange. I can't see anyone I'm friends with willing to drive half an hr into a crowded place. This is one way the mint has of growing the collector population. I got more serious with the Olympic quarters, of course prior I'd pull the different Commemeratives because they were cool & different. At that point I wouldn't call myself a collect, as they just sat in a drawer. These coins are good to get people and kids interested in the hobby. Even to getting kids to save.

I only saw a handful of people. The mint brings quite a few employees (mostly "young ladies in black"), whose job is to proactively convince passerby to exchange their coins -- almost like handing out flyers; works most of the time.
