Gotta love Fridays for road coins ,I got another one today I am really liking crossing roads after todays result ....the clouds were very dark and gathering fast, a downpour was imminent and then out of the corner of my eye near the yellow line I saw something with an interesting color which I kicked slightly and it sounded familiar ! While not terribly damaged , it had small scuff marks on 3 corners .... By the time the rain sprinkled me I was taking this beauty home and a little wetness didnt matter ......good things tend to come on wet days

The time was late yesterday afternoon , it was getting dark ...I had just finished an exciting afternoon when going past the Bus company garage by the corner I spotted something ... It was pretty beat up and I just managed to barely read the year, its a 2008 Ironside reverse penny .....

Found this in the road yesterday - a 2000 £1 coin, slightly damaged but spendable!

Not British coins but they do have the Queen on them! These are three aluminium 1-cent East Caribbean coins that I picked up during my Caribbean trip before Christmas. The left-hand and middle coins were from the main street in Castries, St Lucia. The right-hand coin was found on a beach in Antigua!

I found a 2007 nickel in front of the machine where people buy TTC tokens. Someone must have dropped their change. Nobody bothered to pick it up, so I did.

Found my first road coin for ages today - a 2008 new design (shield reverse) 2p. It obviously hadn't been lying there very long and still had quite a bit of mint lustre, not bad for a six-year-old coin.

I love how American pennies look like ancients after they've been lying outside all winter. 1982 copper on the left, zinc on the right.

I've never had much luck with road coins, but 5 or 6 years ago a relative found an American cent in the road. But the interesting thing is the date- 1944. What are the odds?

Found in the street less than 100 yards from my house - this is the worst bronze-clad steel 2p I've ever seen... ... and no prize for guessing which way up this 2004 penny was lying when I found it!

I found a small hoard! I was walking home in the dark and saw a coin catching the glare from a street light - it was a 2010 2p. When I bent down to pick it up, I saw a 5p, then two 20p's... Eventually I found 9 coins totalling 73p including the worst 2015 20p I've seen! I wonder how many people must have just walked past them?

Bumping this thread! I was out for a walk this evening and found a 2010 2p and a 2003 1p - separately but along the same section of road!

I was crossing the Mall in London yesterday - the street that runs from Trafalgar Square to Buckingham Palace - and I found this unfortunate 1984 20p. Perhaps it was run over by a limousine carrying the very lady portrayed on the obverse?
