I have roughly the same amount of accumulated U.S. junk silver; got a rough idea of it's value, but I haven't a clue what to do with it.

Nice start! In my opinion, there are only two kinds of "junk silver" coins. Those that would grade below G4, and Washington's & Roosevelt's that would grade below MS60.

Thanks for posting everyone! I have five silver War Nickels. When handling them I am careful so they don't mark themselves up or drop any. No idea what my lot I posted is worth but probably around 300. The shiny ones are still inside 2x2's because I didn't want to damage them up. Its just I would rather have the low grades than the MS ones. (Got like Eight common date Mercury dimes in Ms) It's only for my personal collection where I do not plan on ever selling unless I have to. Even if silver jumped I wouldn't sell any of the coins. Trying not to buy more dimes but I can get 500 Mercury dimes on ebay. It's just 939.00 dollars is a little too high over melt. If ebay does the 13% back then maybe.

At a flea market I go to a seller had a similar pile. I found a 1942D/41 Mercury dime in that pile and got it for $1.

This is the kind you should be selling at a spike (personally I see no merit in holding generic silver lower than .999, just my opinion and nothing more because in the event of a spike the junk is the first to go with me, always). But if you get enjoyment out of them that's great.

I suggest looking at online at dealers as you may be able to get close to that price r better depending on spot.
Nice little pile. I have some spares of stuff and a nice little stack too myself.
At 19.565 for an ounce, your silver (50 Dimes, 3 Morgans, 1 half, 6 nickels, 18 quarters) has a melt value of 193.53 :)

@Jimmy dime, to ccf! Will be an update in like four days. Depends if the sellers honor the sales. Had a 30 dollar ebay coupon which expires the next day so had to use it. @Carl, you got luck
