Have problems today moving form one Forum to another or after submitting a post. Please refer to attached message.

It was some server issue at the time. Don't know exactly what it was. The server is configured to recover automatically from some situations, and looks like it has recovered from this one, since I'm having no troubles posting...

I would like to thank you all for the way you've handled these occasional issues that have been ocurring with forum access. You've shown to be a strong, motivated community and I like that. I run other communities elsewhere, and it's always nice to see this kind of commitment.

Computers, some times, behave in strange ways. I'm not sure that the cause of this rash of sluggishness has been eliminated, but I will keep alert. I would like to keep counting with the cooperation so many of you have given with this, so feel free to keep emailing me if something goes wrong. All emails and all contacts will be answered personally.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Rest in Peace

Seems to be up and down today (13 Oct): it will go along very fast, then suddenly seem to hang up with more often than not a time-out message. I've found that if I wait awhile (say, 30 min or more) and come back, it seems to work again, but then hangs up after a number of minutes of reading or responding. I'm guessing by the relatively low number of posts today that others are experiencing the same situation. I think I've checked the forum four or five times today since this morning.

There's something causing problems to the server. We're monitoring, trying to find the cause, allocating more resources and such. Please post if you have problems, it will let me know whether what we're doing helps fixing it or not.

Thx

I still read half a dozen international forums and this one is the only one having this slow fast problem
Also I do not understand this forum kept my IE 6 30 minutes waiting without time out ( I was watching a film on TV ) This is a first for not being timed out

The forum has been working flawlessly and fast for the past several hours (now 1855U/PDT = 0155Z). Maybe the bugs have gone into hibernation for the winter?

Indeed it has. This likely means that the changes made to the server configuration worked as expected. Let's hope so.

I suspect that you already know but if not...it has been flaky for some time this afternoon/evening. Nothing except the very main page of the site (not the forums) would load for a while and then I got service unavailable errors.
