It's not you.

We are in the process of changing to a lightning server. We have the forum up and running on it already. We're changing the database over to a much more stable format and doing some final testing. Pages are loading on average, less than 1 second. [:p]

It's driving me crazy too. Should be all fixed within 48 hours.
Rest in Peace

Thanks for the info
I do a lot of surfing and have regular IE6 freezes which
somehow clean all my cookies on auto reaccess and when the program
asks if I want to report the problem if I say yes I have
to hard reboot because then I got a real crash
If I say no I just get back to a new session of IE6 but sometimes all forum cookies are wiped
I guess all these problems are just that I run my firewall too high

The ads were one of the first things I checked. They always load almost instantly. I pulled my hair out trying to figure it out because our previous host kept saying the problem was on my end. Turns out they just overload their shared servers.

The new server is maintained by a "Snitzer". (his term) He is one of the developers and a support specialist for this forum's software and let me tell you he is wonderful and very easy to work with. It also enables him to tweak the server to suit the forum software's needs.

I couldn't possibly thank him enough. He was up until 3:35 AM his time getting the forum switched over for us.
Rest in Peace

I have a new computer and the DSL cable through Bresnan. Even so, the last two nights has been very slow when making a post, taking the better part of a minute for the thread to show up, and then another minute for the post to be recorded.

Is the problem with my equipment? Or, something else?

Thanks.

Gary, it's flying for Susan and I. We're averaging about 3/10 of a second load time, even for default.asp which is the "heaviest" page.

Let's see if anyone else is having a problem, I can't duplicate it here.
Rest in Peace

Mine has been bad off and on for about 3 days. Sometimes it flies, sometimes I can read a book while it loads. It's only happening when I'm on C/C. Mike

Like I said I am on ADSL and it took me 4 minutes to get to this thread and post the slow problem
I may or may not have posted a chart on gold price because the software said it rattled me in 1.33 seconds and I lost patience after two minutes to see what it rattled
I was going to post some other things but I got to much rib pain after my caraccident to wait
So goodnight everybody from Belgium
Rest in Peace

Like ageka, it took about four minutes to get here.

I tried a few of my other bookmarks, such as my banking, baseball interests, e-mails, mints, and NASA sites, and they are nearly instant.

No problem however. I am sure things will straighten out. Plus, this is a wonderful site and I don't mind waiting a little to get to it.

Ageka & Gary~

Could you post your operating system, browser, ISP, location, and what type of connection you have?

There are a few people having problems, I want to try to find a common demominator. We are having no problems whatsoever here so its kind of tough to analyze.

Also, can you tell me exactly what is it that takes so much time to load? Default.asp? Posting, but before the page that allows you to post, or after you pressed submit?

Another request: for those of who are experiencing problems, and are using windows, could you open a command prompt at your computers and then type in:

tracert coincommunity.com

You will be shown several lines of info, with several milliseconds values. Can you please let me know about the highest of those values shown?

Thx
