yes and update. for sure SPP . I will look you up at the show. have had some measurement done on the coin. the king George V bust is a different size and the lettering around the coin is not the same distance from the edge of the coin . talked to a couple of collectors here we compared the coin to about 30 coins from 1920 to 1936 same results every time. we all think it is the same as one of the members here mentioned it had to be a test coin . some of there thoughts are when the mint was going from the large coin to the smaller coin. that the mint may have pressed some test coins for approval and some how this one got out. I will bring it to you and you can see for yourself. have a great day.

So if the OP's 1920 coin IS proven real,
what kind of value would it bring?

Not that much... all errors are basically unique. It is the "wow factor" and demand that dictates the price... As an example, off-centre 1967 5-cent coins are always fetching a higher price than similar off-centres from other years...

well thank you very much for letting me know. the problem is thou what has been struck does not match the coins from 1920 to 1936. the bust of king George the v is not the same size. what your thoughts on that. I wanted to come to Ottawa. to meet spp. but do to health issues in my family . I can not make it. so I will plan later this summer to go and see spp Ottawa. I want to put the coin in his hand and see what he thinks. hopefully the treatment will go well. take a picture of your coin and lets see it again thank you

You can always mail me the coin to examine it... just be sure to include your return address. Send me a PM for details...

hello spp wondering if you might know this gentlemen. he use to be listed in the Canadian coin news. I will give you his first name was stan last name first letter W he was a active member of cand. about nine years ago I send him pictures of this coin. he is from alberta Canada. I can not find anymore info on him. I have lost his contact information. he use to brokers deals with coin deals for rare and error coins do you know who I am talking about. if so he wanted to see this coin really bad. when I come to see you. I would like to give him the same opportunity. to see and check this coin. at that time he had a couple of collectors that wanted this coin. if not I will come see you later this fall. spp a very old gentleman collector. came to the club the other night. he showed us a twoonie struck on one side the other blank. he also has a loonie same thing struck one side. I have spoke to him about you. I told him if he wants to sell them. when I see you I would bring them to you as well. I told him you could maybe direct him what to do with them and what they might be worth. we found out at the club there is another loonie that has the loon on both sides. simply amazing if its not some kind of fake.

Nope. I highly doubt that this thing is legit. This thread is done, as far as I am concerned.
