My biggest problem with PhotoBucket is the missing quote mark in the IMG share link. It makes for many messy posts on CCF and we cannot fix them all. Good to see some new blood in the photo hosting game. We will be watching.

Quote: Are you by chance running Windows XP? There's a strange bug with some SSL certificates when loaded by XP running Chrome. Also, I'd suggest upgrading IE8 - it's buggy and many sites are entirely dropping support for it. At the moment, I'm using the public library and that's what they offer - Chrome and IE8 on XP. There's a rumour that new computers may come in April but I won't believe it until I see them. I don't have any problem with PayPal, Ancestry or other sites that use SSL certificates.

It's an intermittent problem, Pertinax, so not surprising that you'd see it manifest as you do. I have an Internet-facing XP box that does the same thing.
Photobucket's linking is an annoyance, but can be easily fixed by just grabbing the "Direct Link" and Ctrl-V'ing it into the CCF IMG tags. They appear with the cursor already in the right place so whatever you're linking can be dropped in with no mouse action. I'm not apologising for Photobucket - got no skin in the game - but I've been using them for a long time and don't have any problems with the place.

OK. Just created my account and added my first coin.
Couple of questions. How do I upload my avatar and can I put images here @ CCF from your site. Thanks!

vermontensium - Thanks for signing up! You add your avatar by going to Account -> Settings -> Upload Photo. You can absolutely post photos from CollectiveCoin to the forum. In order to get the code snippet for an image, click on the photo so that it enlarges, and then click the "Share Forum" link below the photo. The code will be copied to your clipboard.
nalaberong - Please let me know if the problem persists. I haven't seen that before.

Idle note, baum, the place isn't friendly to Chrome on Android, although I believe that to be an Android problem as opposed to any HTML compliance issues on your end. It's far from the only site Android/Chrome doesn't like. On your site, the auto copy to clipboard doesn't function although the detail images pop-up correctly. Photobucket does the same thing.
Just a heads-up in case you hear this again.

Tbone, that is a great set of proof Seated dimes! I've just uploaded a few newps from the Long Beach show. It's the only major show I can attend , so I'm always psyched when it rolls around. The Pogue coins in hand were magnificent. I got to examine a few of the bust quarter offerings up close. Some of the small size quarters have an amazing peripheral ring of yellow-gold toning. I can't wait to watch the fireworks at this auction!

Hi All, Nick and I have been working on updates to CollectiveCoin to make it easier to browse and view your uploaded coins on mobile.
Let me know if you use the site on your phone! Any feedback would be great. It can be a bit tricky with less screen acreage available.
We're currently working on a system for commenting on coins, and a "for sale" option for members. Stay tuned for those.
Best, Matt (scubafuel)

After a lot of work, CollectiveCoin.com is proud to present a free marketplace feature for members!
Simply load your coin, tick the "for sale" box in the details and add a price you'd accept. Other members can message you their interest, and work out a deal. This is an ideal way for a collector to make way for new coins.
Thanks to everyone who's tried out the service so far. It's been great fun to watch it grow.
