It's unlikely that I'll watch that particular show BUT here's my question.
Was it a 1907 OR a MCMVII St. Gaudens?

SSK, it's called Chum's Stash or something like that. Kanga, it was a MCMVII
It was a pretty good show, I only watched the beginning though.

Every person who goes into the Pawn Stars shop to sell their collectible auditioned to be on the show. There was one episode where a man brought in a very rare piece of large size currency and Rick says he has to call his expert to authenticate it. The expert was the actual owner of the note and it was one of his employees who brought the note in to sell. The expert authenticated the note, Rick bought it and off air the money was given back to Rick and the note returned to its owner, the expert whose own coin store was located in another part of town.
This was done to fill air time and for people to bring their old currency to sell for cheap at the pawn shop. I can imagine that there have been many other sales to the pawn shop on air that were for show only and were not actually sold.

Please site your sources. Because I am almost 99 percent sure that the show is not set up.

That show is completely scripted. They're not wasting shooting time on potential dead ends.

SS.... They actually had auditions for the show at the last FUN Show in Florida in January. It was well advertised in the numismatic media.
The show is 100% scripted. You can walk in the shop and chances are great you will never see any of the "stars".
I have bought stuff at the shop and have never dealt with anyone but regular flunkies behind the counters. If you want them to cut the price the flunkie runs to the back to get the "ok". The "stars" hide in the back most of the time.
Visit the shop sometimes and see for yourself.

Of course you don't see the "stars" working at the shop. Thanks to the show the place is not probably a tourist attraction with a whole lot of people coming in just to see the shop. That probably makes it difficult to run the business as it it. If the "Stars" were also there the number of tourists/gawkers would increase even more and probably make it impossible to run the business.
