I'm glad I didn't the previous obverse on the clad half dollar because that one looks awful. Both sides of the silver dollar look awful too. I really like the looks of the gold $5. If they can't come up with good designs for both sides of a coin, they just shouldn't make it.

Well at least we have the circulating NP Quarters. Those have all been pretty good designs.

They could have done a lot better without the "cave drawing" Stick figures. They could have improved it by making them a bit more cave drawing like.

I never said they were perfect, just what they were supposed to be.

The gold and silver designs are incredible and the half will make a nice younger collectors package. But yes, lets see how they come out.

The gold is the only good looking one out of the bunch.

I could never by this coin. I can't stop laughing when I see it. My immaturity is truly showing on this one. The dino on the reverse...did they have to make it a male?

Oh man, I didn't even notice that. No way I can have that in my collection.

@One50 @Bret
Actually, both female and male dinosaurs from the Saurischia order (which all bipedal carnivores including the half dollar's dinosaur) have a pubis bone.

Wow. As a collector and lover of commemorative coins, I have to say, the dollar and half are depressing. Good looks nice though.
Hopefully the Twain commem designs aren't this bad.

I'm a little disappointed in the designs. But, I will keep a 'wait and see' attitude.
