I am still quite lost. Your avvy looked like a Lion to me at first but now I see the monkey after you mentioned it. I got all the clues but still am scratching my head. I think I will pass on this contest after all ..thanks for offering it up and good luck to those who are playing. I will just sit and watch

I'm having way too much fun with this. I am however dishearted to not see as much activity here as I'd hoped. Oh well...here be another confusion to see. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Such a wild ride from the land of randomness Twas rather cavendish to be seen like this Paintings in the darkened street of curiosities Do not be an old jesso to indulge in hypocrisies Exchanged and sold is the soul of the beginner To the one who deciphers this shall be the winner

Bravo!
You are the winner UNLESS someone finds even more info on this coin. Your info and numerous pictures are as far as I have gotten. Stay sharp and don't let someone take this from you.
If there is some kinda tie I'll figure out something as a tiebreaker I assume.

The only other thing I could find was the origin of "the land of Jesso". Apparently it is a region between Japan and the Kurile Islands. I added the link below for a little more info. http://books.google.com/books?id=EM...ocztSfekQerAI also found an image of both obverse and reverse. And the description of the pictured token from Vcoins: Middlesex 905: Summers' Wild Mans Head from the land of Jesso Choice Glossy Brown Unc. RR; this marriage about three times more rare, and far tougher to acquire in equal condition, than its D&H 906 counterpart. A fantastic obverse type which everyone wants; examples of the "commoner" D&H 906 in recent London auctions have all fetched between $1100-$1600 each. New collectors show up every day, but there will never be any more of these. A token which has done nothing but display a nonstop increase in value over the past three decades. Grab this one now, or the next stop will surely be $2000.

I can't even touch that. Give it to him, already! I was about to post some mess about the Cavendish Experiment that was conducted in 1797. Boy, was I way off!

Alrighty that'll work. Still looking for some history of the coin itself mainly for the fact of the Summers aspect of it. dan8402 is the winner!
