Currently still on sale. If I didn't already have a couple I'd be tempted to buy another.

I ordered another five, mainly to use as gifts.

Thanks for the heads up. I wasn't expecting the 2015's to go back on sale. I picked up a couple more. Hopefully they don't represent sets that others have returned.

Well, it appears resellers don't see a profit in 2015 Coin and Currency sets.
From Jan. 3 to Jan. 10, the MInt's sales report shows 4,208 sets being returned, bringing the total sold down to 84,059 sets.
I'm guessing several large buyers returned their sets after seeing it come back on sale and values dropping more.
Still, happy with my five sets I ordered Jan. 8! They arrived yesterday, with several that could grade SP-70.

Wow, that's a pretty major decrease... almost 5%.

In all honesty, I am not excited about these. The 2014 C&C set has dropped to $30-35 now after it hit a high around $60 if I remember correctly. Given they cost $14.95 it's better than pretty much everything else offered by the US Mint, but once you factor in shipping costs and fees the return is modest to say the least. But of course, if you LIKE the sets as such then collect them. They are neat after all and I hope the US Mint will continue to offer them. I wish though they reduce the production quantity of the 2016 set.

Wow this has been quite the story, Its been a very interesting read. I am just learning about US coins. I am amazed at the large numbers and how many collectors are into graded nclt coins. My 1 question, after a year are remaining coins destroyed. Do they stay listed until sold.

Usually they stay listed until sold out. There were a few that they did remove at the end of 2015, but some of them were already more than a year old.

^ Yeah, it depends on the coin. For instance, the Mint is still selling 2009 Presidential dollar coin covers. They'll probably be on sale until they sell out or the Mint decides it's not worth it to continue selling them. As for commemoratives, the coins can only be sold the year of issue. Once that year is up, the remaining coins are destroyed. With this particular set, sales will continue until the product sells out and the return volume is so little as to not justify bringing it back on sale.

That's definitely a low ball price for a shipped set. I've seen some $15-17 but this one beats it.
