Pics out of the 2x2 would help tremendously. Puts too much glare on the coin.

My understanding is that any wear is AU , is that right? Cant tell from the photo however, out of the 2x2 flat on a surface would help

To me, yes, any wear is AU. To a TPG, there can be a gray fuzzy line between AU/UNC if the coin looks nice enough.

I have seen an MS-67 commem with some noticable wear on the high points get an MS-63/64 before.

Thanks I would take ms62 or ms63. I dididn't think about taking out of the 2x2. Working on getting better at the pictures.

Not an Indian expert, but I think you are probably seeing a little strike weakness. Based on my experience with Lincolns, I don't think a 150 year old coin can get appreciable wear while still retaining that original red mint luster. I don't see red coins like that in AU slabs as a general rule. I think it is MS, probably 63RD.

Good point. It would be hard to get wear on a small part and not all over.

There might be something going on between the "8" and "6" down towards the bottom loops of each digit. An image outside the 2 x 2 would be beneficial.

I see MS63RD all day. The strike is weak in places, I really don't see it as wear.
