I have a similar problem as you being an American living in the UK but since I am not in the military so I don't have the ability to use APO/FPO. I get the fun of people sending me coins having to fill out customs forms and paying customs duties/VAT on coins coming to me. US coins are overpriced in the Europe if you are doing business with a European dealer. Don't know about Spain but in the UK most coins have a 20% value added tax on them (VAT).

Yup, sounds about right.
Now if you make friends with someone stationed at Mildenhall or Lakenheath......

I live near RAF Welford (munitions storage facility) but the US Air Force use of the base has declined since 2009. So no luck getting to know anyone based there.

Half - I forgot to mention how grateful my family is for the sacrifices you're making to protect our freedoms. God bless you for your service.
I'm retired USAF. I never made it to Europe. My overseas duty was in South East Asia. I know all too well what it's like to be so far from home. Jack

My Mercury dime is a gold plated 1935. I have to say, I love the reverse of the Sacagawea proof...Beautiful.

AR - - The Sacagawea reverse gets my vote for one of the VERY BEST modern engravings. Probably not many would agree, but I've always thought it was on par with many of the early "classic" designs. Jack
