eaglefoot Posted ".been on "processing" for awhile and "ship hold-in stock"." Geeze, the mint is starting to sound like an old Doritos commerical, "Order as much as you want, we'll make more."

Funny, I just noticed that although I received my order (everything that was shipped anyway) on the 4th, the charge on my debit card wasn't posted until yesterday. But, I guess one week late is good enough for government work... I am still waiting on my 'instock and reserved' '07 UNC ASE though. quote: Your order request has been canceled. line was canceled. not happy at all!
What were you waiting on that was cancelled?

It was a bald eagle dollar in proof. I ordered it at the reduced issue price but they said line canceled. I had one on order from a dealer in Southern California which I did receive, but had to pay a small premium on top of issue price. Not that I mind, the man has to make money, he has a business to run. I just wish that when you order from the U.S. Mint that the sales were final at time of checkout, not at their discretion to fulfill and ship!!

I ordered a bald eagle coin in the middle of Feb. and it just got here last Thursday. That's good enough for government work. I let myself get spoiled by good service and UPS shipping from those online dealers.

Ordered the Bald Eagles back if Feb. Uncirculated & proofs on both the dollars and halfs. Got the usual in process, in stock and reserved, then four days in a row an email your item has been shipped. Each item sent separately with shipping charges on each. What's up with that?

COINAHOLIC, why did you do that? The proof bald eagle commems are still available right now from the Mint's website. Perhaps you tried to order after the pre-issue price expired? quote: Each item sent separately with shipping charges on each. What's up with that?
MorgansRmine, were they all on the same order or ordered separately? If on one order there should only be one shipping charge even if shipped separately. If ordered separately, they do not combine shipping for multiple orders.

COINAHOLIC....... Yeah...what Biochemist said....... I see that you said they told you "line was cancelled"......I'm not sure what that meant, but they are still available NOW at the U.S. Mint and probably will be for some time to come yet. Personally,...I would ALWAYS order from the Mint first, before a Dealer.....though certain things bought in bulk amounts can produce better pricing to be offered to you from dealers....that particular item would not be the case I expect. But for me......a dealer is never my "first" choice in purchasing brand new stuff.

received my Proof 2008 State Qrtrs last week........cracked case, I have to ship it back for replacement! This is the second thing in a row from them that I had to ship back! I finally got my 3 Coin Bald Eagle set replacement last week.
Quality Control at the mint is severely lacking !

I understand that I did a numismatic "no no" by purchasing from a dealer while it is still available from the mint, but my objective was to get the coin! What I paid, is what the current issue price is at the mint, so even if I were to re-order from them, I already own the coin at that price. Here is what the bottom line of the order read; Product Name Quantity Price (each) Total Item Status Cancel 2008 BALD EAGLE $1 SILVER PRF 1 $39.95 $39.95 Line was cancelled. They did not contact me with any reason for the cancellation I just have to draw conclusions on my own.
I had this happen when the mint sets for '07 were issued also, I ordered, they canceled, I ordered again, they canceled, after six weeks of dealing with that I bought elsewhere at the same price as issued.
So maybe I'm just the lucky guy that never gets anything from the mint directly!

IMHO, you did what you had to do. The US Mint has increasingly poor customer service and quality control. Let someone else deal with the bad CS and weed out the bad product, even if you have to pay a premium. Since you got it for issue price, BONUS!
