If the pics aren't altered in anyway then it is definitely a dmpl a solid 65 maybe a 66. I see relatively few marks, as normally dmpl and pl coins show more chatter. I'd definitely send it to NGC or PCGS and have it graded in the GSA holder.

My guess is this coin didn't make the grade at NGC. The ask is below FMV for MS64 DMPL in GSA plastic. The photos certainly make it appear MS65/66.

The photos do appear a bit odd, but since that's all we have to work with it appears as 65 DMPL.

The price for this ebay listing seems reasonable. These are the only pictures I can go off of, but there is a 30 day return policy. I am thinking even if it would grade at 63 the price is still fair. I am attracted to what looks like really nice cameo features and clear fields. Dave, do you think the price is right?

i can tell by the pictures right away, this evay seller is notorious for enhancing and manipulating his photos to the absolute max..stay away from his listing. wholesaleDMPLmorgans is his name, or something like that..correct?

Below is the listing. You can not grade from this seller's photos as they are juiced. Do not buy this coin. This seller likes to take lower grade coin in PL and juice the photos and sell for a high grade as DMLP.

The price would be right if NGC had graded it 64DMPL but I wouldn't touch a coin from wholesaledmpl with a 10 foot pole. I wish I could find the post on CCF from several years back where someone tested that water. The actual coin was so far from the auction photos to the point you had to really squint to tell they were the same coin.

Hence the reason for my comment above.

Gotcha, Thank you everyone. I am trying to build a Morgan collection and the coin looked good, but I agree with all of you. Thanks for your help, I will not look at them as a source to buy.

If you are going to buy PL or DMPL Morgans from photo, stick to graded coins. It is very difficult to evaluate mirror depth from photos and tell the difference between semi PL, PL or DMPL.
