I think it could be as nice as an F-12.

I think the "pitted" appearance is noise from inadequate lighting. You can see it on the plastic and cardboard as well.

Adam , I think your grade opinion is right on . Can't be fine ,I see no trace of Liberty even with these fuzzy pics .

It's VG. A Fine needs to show more of the letters of the "LIBERTY." Please, guys pull out you ANA grading guides and maintain the standards. Watering them down does not benefet collectors.

VG-06, maybe 08, but no way a Fine. Looks like the horizontal shield lines are completely gone.

Pretty pleased for 5 bucks...it is a bit darker in hand, but just a bit. No environmental damage, but does have a small nick/hit to the left of the bust and a scratch above the left wreath on the reverse...but hey, for the price...

So, what would you grade it now?

I'm curious about the shield. It looks like the entire top is worn away and inconsistent with the rest of the reverse.

I would say vg10 or f12. The shield looks like a combo weak strike and/or greased die. It doesn't look like wear b/c the rim is so strong.

This is for me: I don't know why I wasn't thinking Greaser.

It makes sense considering the state of the devices surrounding it. I'm comparing it to PCGS Photograde and think that it is consistent with the F-12 they show.
