I can see a little something on the Y in LIBERTY in the first pic. Notice, however, how "skinny" it makes the Y look compared to other letters.

That's a clear indication of Strike Doubling or MD. It also has a shelving effect that makes the eastern Y more prominent.

Thanks so much for your quick replies. I have a rockstar camera, but no macro lens for it. I'm going to get a better picture. It's there.

What you're saying is exciting to me. You're suggesting that there's no known 1916 DDO. I understand the liklihood of after all this time uncovering one is extremely high, but hope is fun. I'm hopeful. Please watch for my updated picture.

Don't get too excited on this one, Digit. Strike Doubling is MD, and it's worthless doubling. Die wear is worthless doubling also. Light reflecting on devices is worthless as well. None of them are a Doubled Die. If you can get better pictures we can teach you right quick to tell the difference.
Close-up pictures of TY and 19 should show what type of worthless doubling is there, if any at all. The pics already supplied are good enough to rule out a Doubled Die.

Those are nice pics and much better!

It shows clear Strike Doubling (or MD, same thing). Notice how the parts of the letters/numbers that are shifted west/left appear as a lower "shelf". If it were a doubled die, both parts would be the same height from the coin's field.

Again, those are good pics for reference.

Yes, sorry to burst your bubble, but just MD. Still a nice grade though.

Yep, clearly MD. The die was loose, and a little extra movement altered the devices. The "doubling" reduced the size of the original devices. On a Doubled Die, the doubling would increase the overall size. The Doubled Die gets it's name because the doubling is on the die.
Very impressive pics!

Very nice Machine Doubling, it is also noticeable on the TRUST, there are collectors for this type doubling as well.

Those pics are actually fantastic! You'll have to show me. But, as stated before, the devices are in fact reduced, so clear MD. Keep looking, stuff is out there!
