There is a small one day coin show in Marietta, GA. I go as often as I can, but skipped the January one because I didn't have any pressing purchase needs.
I should be able to go to the February show and hopefully pickup a bullion 2018 ASE. If the spot prices are okay, I might try and sell a little.

Sounds like fun. bd251 I hope you get to go again. I haven't been to a coin show in years but I plan to go to a small show in Feb.

Sounds like you had a great time. Smaller coin shows offer lots of stuff you won't see at Big shows where table costs are so high.

Great aren't they? So much better than over the internet where you have to pay for postage, handling, paypal fees, ebay fees, lost in mail, wrong item sent, etc. I love coin shows. We have over 3 a Month around me and some big ones once in a while.

I haven't been to one yet, but feel a little intimidated just thinking of the idea of attending.

Did I read correctly and you can sell at the shows also.

There's a small coin show near me coming up, and I am thinking of going.

Yes they are! The only thing was that I am mostly interested in world coins right now which meant I was looking through a lot of boxes of 2x2s that weren't necessarily organized that well.

Yes, you can walk your coins from table to table and get offers. Try to show them to a dealer that has similar stuff in his case as he will likely be more interested. Dealers that don't have your sort of material and are only willing to buy something to flip it to another dealer will not give you the best offers.

I have a few extra gold coins that I might sell, and might see if a dealer I have bought from in the past wants some of my extra darkside coins.

EDIT - at the monthly coin show that is local to me, there is usually a table buying precious metals. Just have to be fine with their buying price.

There is a lot of selling that goes on at shows. Some bring a couple of items and others bring rolling carry-on bags full of items. So don't be shy, but as Andrew said, if you're going to sell try to find a dealer that has items like you are trying to get rid of.

You can sell to dealers that have tables. Start trying to sell to other collectors that are attending and that can get you ejected.

I saw this on Youtube, can this really be done. Buying from one dealer and selling to another at the same show. Seems a little out there but I guess plausible.

He starts to talk about it around the 1:45 mark.

At every coin show I have been to there are always signs that say I buy Gold, Silver, coins, etc. Almost every dealer is trying to buy so they can resell and sometimes at the same show. At many shows some dealers walk around before the show buying from other dealers when they find something they either think or know they can sell for more. I've seen many people walking around with coins to sell at shows. Some people go there just to sell coins.
