it is a casted coin , but so bad I think it is maybe a fake . Fake or not , don t buy and look for better and nicer coins . albert

Hey Imajakov. I've actually bought stuff from that guy before and it was real. Obviously he knew this because this is what he put in the description for the coin:

"This is a cast limes denarius that looks like it was made in a hurry because it was very crudely made. However, it retains a nice touch since the reverse is rare."

echizento may I ask what they mainly used to cast the coin if it had used very little silver? is it tin?

So this piece is bronze? it looks more like silver or tin or along those lines--

could it be an ancient fake?

Extremely unlikely because otherwise the edge would gotten worn down and rounded over the centuries. My best guess is that it was made in 2017 AD.

I feel sorry for the poor SOB who bought that POS.

The rest of the items of that seller ( silver_denarius) on E-bay appears to be genuine tho. But not that one that's for sure.

Imajakov, how much was it going for before it was sold when it first caught your eye?

I'm surprised. Most fake sellers try to ask for a lot more than that.Even replicas cost more than 5 bucks. Was it you that bought this fake coin or was it really someone else?
