Folks, I have been reading your thread with interest. I have posted for your enjoyment my own Foy and Gibson Type 2 bag. I too have been watching the high prices some of these bags have been attracting; a good long-term investment. I took this photo myself this evening....I reckon it's time to find myself a better photographer.

Very nice jerrabomberra & welcome to the forum. Your bag looks to be VF or there about, I was thinking seriously of an upgrade myself BUT I will not be purchasing one from anyone unless they have a really good reputation now. The FAKE carp spoils everything eventually, does'nt it ?

My interest in this thread is growing!
Can someone quote prices for originals in different grades?

Appleangel07, thank you for the advice on the grade of the bag. I have been curious about the grade, but hadn't been able to find enough much online to make an assessment on the grade myself. I inherited this bag along with the accompanying 1934/35 Florin a few years ago and it has kicked off an interest in starting a serious collection of my own.

NOOOOOOOOO, what happened to this thread ? , why so many posts pulled ? a couple may have crossed the line but most posts had nothing wrong with them IMO, reminds me of the bad old days on the ebay forums . Markn, I agree whole heartedly with what you said in your now removed post. If the seller had marked the bag copy or reproduction I would have no problem with them BUT it is clear that there is no such mark on the bag, so somewhere down the track some poor unsuspecting buyer is going to be doing this when some unscrupulous so & so buys one & on sells as the real deal. PP very nice pair you have there pun intended.

Quote: You have to get the florin before you even worry about the bag Perhaps. The bags are actually quite a bit tougher to find so if you're after both I'd keep my eyes open and jump on one if the opportunity presents itself.
