There is also the chance it could have been someone's pocket piece.

Looks like pocket wear, probably someone's 'good luck' coin.

Casino coins are usually nicked and scuffed rather than smooth.

A nice lowball for sure. Seller claims 1976-S 40% silver.

Someone will appreciate the coin for what it is.

C'mon. This has been ground down and smoothed. Complete fake. Even a Morgan dollar wouldn't look like this after 40 years of genuine circulation. Laughable.

My guess is pocket piece, but I suppose something less honest is possible.

I picked up a couple lowball Ikes from a bank myself & sold them on ebay. At the time I didn't realize the demand for lowballs. I had them listed in a lot with other Ikes and had a couple people contact me with offers just for the lowballs which I accepted. also found some 40% halves worn down too. Legit ones are out there.....just few and far between imho.

Agreed pocket piece, or casino coin.
One characteristic of a casino coin is that the reeded edge is worn smooth

In genuine circulation no probably not, but as a pocket piece yes it will.
