Also, don't the proofs have the squared rims?

ICG must have a huge backlog. It has been a while and the crickets are just chirping away.

In fact I have to ask, is this a troll account? I mean this is the second 1909 vdb proof you have insisted is real dispite much evidence showing otherwise. Not to mention the 1943 copper cent that you were "sure was the real deal" and then completely abandoned the thread.

On about 4 occasions you have posted items you "know" are the real deal and ask how to go about getting them graded, and then when you are told that the coins aren't what you think that they are, and that you should save your money. then you either tell them to "get their glasses" or say that you will send them out anyway and show us the results, but then you don't.

If this is like a joke account, trying to act like those folks who spend two minutes research a penny with a huge scratch on it and come to the conclusion that it is a "R@RE ERROR, L@@k!!11!1". Then I have to say that, that's kind of funny, but if that's not the case then I really hope you will start listening when people try to help you here, because if you do, then you will be more likely to know when you actually do have an error, proof, scarce coin etc etc.

I just love the way that everyone on here is so sarcastic rather than help folks. It is amazing how they are ready to chalk it up to post mint or determination. Just for instance the last post I made, check it out. No, I have not sent anything in to grade, but the 1964 SMS, which I am waiting. Some of the replies here are comical I must say.

Definitely not UNC, and I don't think it's a proof, either.

Quit trying to be snarky, we have offered you advice on this forum many times, the reason some of us are being sarcastic is because of the somewhat comical way you respond to said advice.

Its not just blindly "chalking it up" to being damage or fakes, these are people who have spent years studying these coins and know what they're talking about. The only person chalking anything up is you when you can't accept that your coin might not be the $10,000+ coin you hope it is.

I'm glad you haven't, because your coins value would likely not justify the grading fees, if you plan on selling it. anything the grader will tell you has already been told to you here for free.

Sam....

As I told you at the beginning of this thread your coin is NOT a proof. That fact is not going to change. Not one person here thinks your coin is a proof.

You insist on arguing and get mad because you aren't hearing what you want to hear. Welcome to the real world bud.

I have used the "eating crow pie" statement many times here on CCF and not once have I had to cook one up and I don't expect to with your coin. If I offended you get over it. I tell it like it is, I call em like I see em.

And now, after saying you were "gonna send it in tomorrow" you now say you haven't sent in anything (other than that 64 SMS cent from a few months ago that we are still waiting to see).

There have been some exciting coins show up from the wild here on CCF the last few months. A near-dateless 1916 SL quarter along with what appears to be a 1913 proof Buffalo are just a couple of examples. I commented on those coins and rendered my honest opinions like I always do. I truly wish your coins fell in those categories. They don't.

Good luck in your searches.

A very solid AU58+. Would like to see larger, higher-res photos, but that's just me.

Business strike, AU Details (tossup: 95 code or 97 code).

Many lightly circulated 1909 VDBs were saved, and they can be found in quantity in shows in the $10 to $13 range. A lot of those coins trace their provenance to solid date and evenly graded rolls sold by Virg Marshall back in the 1960s and 1970s.

This coin has some luster, but the surface scratches and rim dings and environmental damage (most noticeable on the reverse) seriously hurt eye appeal. These almost certainly would prevent a straight grade.
