What kind of scale did you use?
Looks like a Dryer Coin but weighs the same as a nickel?
If it was struck on a nickel blank the proto-rim would be smushed and many of the beads and denticles of the quarter would be seen.

Chlo1313 if you would not mind could you lay a Kleenex or a a thin piece of white paper. under your coin your counter top is throwing your coin color off. Chlo1313 when you photographing your coins. aline your coins straight up and down. always photograph both sides of your coin. see if you take a top dead center coin image. I can work with your images. to help you see what you have. this coin is very interesting. I want to lay your coin image on top of a one of my images. if you would not mind

It's a well circulated example, but due to the date era this coin maybe 100 to 150 bucks if graded, I have doubts with the surface of the coin.

Chlo1313 here is a image. to show you what I mean about alignment. the weigh is bang on. a micro meter would solve this very quickly. see a nickle is thicker than a quarter.

It's definitely not struck on a nickel planchet.
It has a more than full rim all around which is why many would say it's a Dryer Coin.

As far as I can find, the RCM did not strike any foreign planchets in 1981 that were 4.5 g.
