Its not like there hasnt been international travel between here and there since before the US was a country. That being said, IF you found an S VDB along with this, it was clearly a collection that got out of crazy uncle Larry's estate with no one knowing about it. It does happen. I see nothing that tells me this is anything but real. I would definitely send both in to ANACS and see what they say. Report this Post to the Staff
Coinfrog Bedrock of the Community United States 94367 Posts	Posted 10/04/2020 8:09 pm It's not so difficult to imagine them in the UK, but rather that two such rarities would show up together in a handful of coins. I searched tens of thousands of cents when I was younger and never found either of these, and I'm sure I speak for many. Report this Post to the Staff

Our lucky poster is fortunate to have the collective wisdom of the CCF members to help solve this happy little problem. That being said, I bought a lovely San Francisco dime from a lady in England. From the late 1890s dimes were sent to The Philippines and came back to the US cleaned. Coins DO travel the pond and that is part of the mystery. One has been repatriated and now sits in my album.
