Quote: I wonder why the number won't work for you.. Maybe it does for me 'cause it is my account and logged in to it.
I'll up load a screen shot.. That's the ID number PCGS uses for that specific type, so 819301 corresponds to the 2020-W V75 ASE in DCAM, 819302 is the same thing but for first strikes, and so on. The picture on that page is not of your coin.

ALL 2009 gold one ounce Double Eagles are either PF-69 or PF-70.
Mints around the World are getting better and better in making consistently high quality MS-70 coins for the benefit of collectors, to the extent that MS-69 and MS-70 will be the most common grades.
And you need a professional TPGrader to tell the difference. I know for sure that I won't be able to tell the difference with a screen shot, I will have to read the slab label.

Quote: I really like this label,I hope yours has the same label Me too. That looks great. As soon as I get the coin back, I'll post it in this thread. I'm Happy about it and will post up a pic when I can. Quote: And you need a professional TPGrader to tell the difference. I think that the difference from a 69 to a 70 is the magnification. they go way deep up to Mag x5 I think to grade it for a 70 (if it passes) Edited for bad spelling and overall terrible typing..

As I understand it, the industry standard for TPGraders is hand held, in ideal lighting conditions, examined with a 10X loupe. The standard for us is on screen, with variable and sometimes questionable photography, with the coin under the veil of clear plastic. This is also the standard that sellers have to cope with for slabbed coins on ebay. You just have to trust the slab grading, which after all is said and done, is just an opinion.. That is why I like to grade my own coins, hand held, in ideal lighting conditions, examined with a 10X loupe, and just forget about having them slabbed. If I get my coins wrong, I have nobody to blame except myself.

All right! my ASE came back today! Here are the pictures of it. Now I have almost identical twins... I plan to send back the PR69 to see if I can get an upgrade to a 70.

Now that the U.S. Mint can strike PR70 DCAM on a common and regular basis, what we need now is a new grading level:- MS- 80 and PR- 80 DCAM.

Well lets not get that crazy yet... Lets start with MS/PR-71

I had similar thoughts whether 70 is high enough or whether there should be a distinct grading system for proofs. Is a 70 grade too easy to get these days?
I was looking at a Silver Eagle MS 70 on PCGS and NGC and there were hundreds at that grade (I forget the year and mint). The confusing thing was that the specific coin I was verifying had the tag "none higher" on the website. Aren't all the hundreds graded 70 also worthy of "none higher" / "top pop"? If some MS or PR70's are not equal maybe they are not really worth a 70? Maybe if there are too many 70s then that grade is becoming too diluted and eventually meaningless?
Stay well, Diy89Nurm7

Well for me, it was a 50/50 chance. I turned in 2 ASE v75 privy ASE coins, only one came back as a 70..
