Can you buy 90% silver halves from a bank? Few years back I bought a roll of Walking Liberty halves directly off a line teller, I paid her $50. That roll was part of her personal stash. When I checked dates later, there was a 1938D in the mix. When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...

I am done, I went thru the first bag very carefully, but it was killing my neck.so the second was more cursory. I counted 9 unique marks and several generic dots from previous searchers. However I found 1 64, dirty and scuffed, 1 68, in much better shape, and it looks like it has an alloy issue on the obverse, a couple doubled dies, I am much more sure of these than the one I posted pics of. a few with impressive Machine Doubling and one counter stamped w/ a iron cross type image. will post some pics later, esp of the 68, I want to know if it is an alloy issue. |

Finally pictures, if anyone is still interested. the 64  biggest MD I have seen, all around the reverse except america  the possible alloy issue, but maybe stains or damage   counter punched one I have a few others that I kept, but cant get pics of, including a bicentennial that I would swear has been replated due to the shine, but I cant get a pic and I dont see the mushiness that usually shows up on replated coins I have seen.  |

I make one exception, a decade ago I bought a roll of silver halves from a teller on her line. These coins were from her personal collection she'd accumulated at work, and she did profit from the sale. Tellers have it made, I have some crazy stories about their finds. My wife was in banking for years too and knew her coins. When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...

I searched $1000.00 Kennedy halves and found 1 1964, 1 1966 and a lot of the nifc coins. Oh, and one of those magicians coins. I had fun but won't make a habit of it. |

I picked up 22 rolls of halves last month, and I only found 1 silver-clad 1968 d.
It's still worth it though just for that.

Last year, I picked up 6 rolls of halves.
I found 7 silver-clads, a 1981 s proof, a mexican peso, and a venezuelan 5 bolivar.
