Thanks guys I paid $450 for it Haven't checked for VAM yet - That sounds like fun. I'll try to take some better pics later. I was in a hurry this morning before work and those are cell phone shots

Quote: I paid $450 for it You paid $450 for a Morgan dollar thats not graded. I dont think I could do it. Unless in a GSA holder. But thats just me. Looks like a nice coin. Now that I look at it can you get better pics of the mint mark

jolly good, Mike33! I hope you're able to determine the VAM designation. I see some die cracks on both sides.

Nice looks authentic and MS-62. Fair price paid for the grade. Good acquisition. Enjoy it!

Not a bad price, I've sold a few uglier ones lately for about the same or a bit more actually. Do VAM it.

What a difference between the first and second set of pictures. I dont see much rubbing at all. Its got nice strike, coin has quite a few marks but there is some nice luster left. Looks to be some die cracks over some of the letters on the obverse. I dont know if this is a specific variety or not. I think due to the marks and bagginess probably around MS62 give or take. Again nice coin. Are you going to get this graded?

That's a pretty big hit on the reverse field, but still a nice coin. It looks like a VAM-2B by the way.

Thanks guys, I'm happy with it and satisfied with what I paid.
I'm keeping it raw in my Intercept Shield album. Love the way they look in the album.
I now have 32 different ones including an 84 CC beater I picked up locally for a decent beater price.
I love these coins and this all started with my girlfriend finding some she had for years that she wanted to cash in for some Xmas money. I bought the nicest one from her at the price she was going to get from the shop for it and instantly became hooked.
