Most like die wear and a die polishing issue. Not a doubled die. The devices would be enlarged, showing spread.

I need a better shot of the date and mintmark area that is more level to check to see if the mintmark location is the same as the coppercoins listing. The spread on the motto devices is not seen that well on your images provided. The way I take my images on cent is
1. 'IN GOD'
2. 'D-WE-T'
3. 'TRUST'
4. 'Liberty'
5. 'Date'
On these, the curved devices are set to horizontal. I make the image lever with LIBERTY.
Rotation of 36 degrees CW on # 1, 6 degrees cw on #2, 30 degrees CCW on #3, 4 and 5 are horizontal images. That way I can make side by sides with a normal coin.

Well it failed at the mintmark location (which was close) but the mintmark appears angled a bit.

So it is not that die. When the mintmark is not a match, it is the same die.

What are you saying coop? It's not the same die as the other in the picture so what does that mean not following. I was looking at the serifs and the notches. It's not a doubled die?

The mintmark location for the DDO-001 1971-D will the quickest determination of being that die. There is only one die for the mintmark location and the DDO-001. With the other devices so altered, I used the fastest method to determine if it is that die or not. The mintmark location, angle of the mintmark is not the same as the DDO-001. So it it not that die number. With the contact marks and the reduction of the devices instead of the showing a spread, your coin is not the same size. If the mintmark location would have been correct, then I would have checked the other devices. But without a match, it is not that die number. (In 1990 all the mintmark locations are the same for the year/mint on these coins forward. Before 1990, the mintmark locations were hand punched into the dies, thus the locations will/could be different on each die. Also the locations and size of the mintmarks can be different strengths. Die markers are also like finger prints, but can change as the die ages. Mintmark locations are exact. They can be weakened by the same die polishing that weakens the size of the devices. But the mintmarks stay put. They locations don't vary)

So it's not a DD0-001
Because a whole different die was used and that means it's not a doubled die at all? Is that what you're saying coop if I'm understanding right

Hello Zach. What you are being told is that you do not have a variety doubled die. Your Cent is pretty worn out from circulation but appears to possibly exhibit Master Die Doubling, totally different than a true Doubled Die which would be considered an error or a variety. There is only one recognized DDO for this year and mm (your Cent) and yours is unfortunately not it. There is an entire world of information on the internet. I would urge you to explore this wealth of information not only on the site Coppercoins.com you quoted from in your thread, but other educational numismatic websites as well.

Looking at the two examples the curl on the DD0-001 of the 9 is different on each coin is is not? Making one of them a small date and one a large date could that be anywhere close to why they are so different because a different die was used for each and they're not the same. I'm off Target does it not appear that way to you on the 9s

May I also ask on the back or the reverse of the coin are those die cracks around the memorial and can those bring extra value to a coin if they are. I suppose it depends on the size and the length I don't know

Die cracks are die events. As the die ages they develop as they are pushing metal into a different shape. The die cracks can see see mostly on the corners of the building. I remember seeing 3 corners cracked, but I don't remember seeing one with all 4 corners cracked. I found one years ago that had three die cracks that were not on the corners of the reverse:

But they are not a premium. They are common to find. They are a die aging issue.
