I would also keep an eye out for the following recent 1 cent coins as well.
2006P - A super rare one with only 233,000 minted. I found only 2 in a 10000 coin search. 2005P - Another rare one with only 30 million minted
Also 2004P, 2003 (no P, crowned), 2003 (no P, uncrowned), 2002P are low mintage, all under 100 million. Typically penny mintages hit the high hundred millions or 1 billion per year.
Supposedly, there is also super rare 1999P, 2000P and 2001P 1 cent coins out there. I have never seen one.

According to Charlton's Standard Catalogue: The Royal Canadian Mint developed a new multi-ply plated steel process which allows for the production of plated steel blanks....The new composition coins are marked with the letter "P" (plated) for identification purposes. The "P" is considered a compostion mark, and not a mint mark.

Frostcross,
Thanks for the detailed list of recent cent varieties.
I would add the following:
1) 2006rcm pennies come in both magnetic and non-magnetic varieties. Non-magnetic versions seem to be the rare ones. 2) 2007rcm pennies come in both magnetic and non-magnetic varieties. Non-magnetic versions seem to be the very rare ones. 3) I have no info on the 2008rcm series. All seem magnetic so far.
From what I can see all "P" coins are magnetic.

Frostcross, Here is the statistics on 2006 pennies, I have put together. According to my catalog, 1) One billion of the regular 2006 (no P, no RCM) types. 2) 138 million of P and RCM types The figure floating around the internet regarding the 2006P mintage is 233,000. I fished through 30 x picked pennies rolls (containing only 1997 to 2008 cents) and found 16 x 2006rcm non-magnetic and 30 x 2006rcm magnetic. Unofficially, I would say there is 46 million non-magnetic 2006rcm and 92 million magnetic 2006rcm out there.

2006P is uncrowned. Coins from 1990 to 2003 were crowned and 2003 to the present are uncrowned. 2003 coins come in both varieties. I have seen nice circulated 2006P on ebay going for $5.00 to $10.00 I have seen MS63 grade 2006P coins going for $50.00 to $100.00 on ebay as well. But it is much more fun to find one in a roll.
