Hi guys, well I just did some roll hunting hehe,

The oldest I found is a 1938, probebly not worth very much,

Also I have a question, on old coins, should we polish them, or any perticular way to clean them , or we should just leave them as is

hey nice finds the 38 is the last coin I need for my circulation set it worth maybe .35 to .75 cents the 67 maybe .10 and the 57 face value. Don't clean them, takes the value away according to experts here.

Very nice. The 38 is in really good shape. And no on the cleaning. The patina that has formed on the coin is a natural process. Welcome to forum to the both of you.

Cool finds and that '38 didn't see much circulation. A definite "no" on the cleaning. They would just be junk after that.

Went though ten bucks worth of pennies and did not bad. Found this beauty, like it was made yesterday, but it was too good to be true...

Sorted through 18 penny rolls,I will just post the most interesting finds...they are:
1939,1943,1953,1957,1959,1961,1962x2,1963,1964x3,1965x4,1966x2,1967x4,1969x7,1969
One of the 1965 pennies is defenitely a large bead variety!I have to do more studying to see if it is the pointed 5 or not, can't tell it's not completely blunt but neither are the other 3...hhhmm the 5 on this one coin is closer to the maple leaf...almost touching!best condition of the 4 also...I am excited!,I really need to pick up the 2009 charlton price guide.

I would also keep an eye out for the following recent 1 cent coins as well.

2006P - A super rare one with only 233,000 minted. I found only 2 in a 10000 coin search.
2005P - Another rare one with only 30 million minted

Also 2004P, 2003 (no P, crowned), 2003 (no P, uncrowned), 2002P
are low mintage, all under 100 million. Typically penny mintages hit the high hundred millions or 1 billion per year.

Supposedly, there is also super rare 1999P, 2000P and 2001P 1 cent coins out there. I have never seen one.

According to Charlton's Standard Catalogue:

The Royal Canadian Mint developed a new multi-ply plated steel process which allows for the production of plated steel blanks....The new composition coins are marked with the letter "P" (plated) for identification purposes. The "P" is considered a compostion mark, and not a mint mark.

I am starting to believe that the elusive 2006 no p magnetic is a wild goose chase,Really how can it not be an error as the magnetics were only the plated steel (P)...arghh
Anyhoo this is what I got:
2003 no p non magnetic(uncrowned new effigy)
2003 p magnetic (uncrowned)new effigy)
2003 no p non magnetic (crowned)old effigy
2003 p magnetic (crowned)old effigy
2004 p magnetic (uncrowned)new effigy)x3
2004 no p non magnetic(uncrowned)new effigy
2006 RCM logo NoN Magnetic(uncrowned)new effigy x3 These are wierd!only the magnetic seem to have the RCM logo...strange
so far no 1999 2000 or 2001 p
Will keep looking, kinda wished I hadnt cashed in my rolls to the bank today!oops
