@makescents, thank you very much. There are very helpful people here. I just want to learn more and understand the different errors and varieties. Some individuals on here just seem to enjoy dictating what a coin isn't with complete absolution, rude, without offering direction, correction or offering what they do see if someone is incorrect. That is not what I would call educational more like a secret elitism type web society. I guess numerist groups are a former form of Masons group. Maybe they still are. I was told this is a website of learning. Again many are helpful on here. I do respect individuals with years committed to the art of coin currency, errors and varieties. Thanks again. Coindom76

@makescents, thank you for the links and additional information. I do have all these sites marked down and use them daily. It will be easier now having them all jotted down here for quick link reference points moving forward. My father collected variety and error coins for as long as I could remember. I personally never got into collecting until a few years ago after my father passed on. If my father were still here I would be learning directly from him. My issue is that I can usually tell when something is off with a coin. That said it doesn't mean I always understand the variety or error involved. Even minor, no premium, MD and misaligned die struck coins are not so common when you think how many coins are struck using the same dies. I do realize with actual variety coin out there why there is no premium for them though. I am a pocket change commando. I'm not going and buying varieties or errors. Everything I share on here came from circulation though change. It just proves there are plenty great varieties and unique errors in circulation. I have found many unique one of a kind errors in circulation. Confirmation is where my frustration comes into play at this point. Thanks again Coindom76

Nice, John1, Ken's link is one I lost. I also added the Lincoln Cent Resource, above, left that one out.

I have bought rolls and other various coins outright but 95% of what I have found has been in Loomis bank rolls, love to search coins from the wild. Here are some of my bank roll finds. http://goccf.com/t/404178

If you are looking at the areas between the devices and the rim area, that is where you will see die wear on this design. Not a doubled die. On a doubled die, the devices will be enlarged. But keep in mind that year there are large and small dates.

@coop, In the original post I state that I believe it is the small date type. Would die deteriation leave strikes marks on the rim? I do still have questions regarding this 1974S cent. Such as what appear to be possible clash marks on the devices and in the field on both the obverse and reverse. It doesn't appear to be a common clash if they are indeed clashing. I was actually attempting to find more information on it earlier this evening. Also Lincolns in the memorials arm looks off on his right, our left, side.
@makescents, Yeah I have not purchased any pre slabbed errors. I have although found a good amount of one of a kind oddities, clashes, multi struck. If I'm at the bank I will ask for some rolls to search through. Other than that it is everyday circulation coins I receive from retail stores, coffee shops, ect as change. Although I make a point to carry cash so I can make change daily.
@petespocket, It is nice to make your acquaintance.
