I had thought it looked good for the grade . Possibly it was net graded some.
Very hard to find A decent 1840
A super scratched VF Details just sold on HA tonight for 456 with buyers fees.

No I did not buy it. Though It is on the list of potential coins still. I am more looking for Trade dollars at the moment but I do want A nice low Mintage Seated Liberty and they are hard to come by for A decent price. |

Late to the party but I like the coin. I don't think the small metal void at K5 is PMD. It looks more like a planchet flaw and a small one at that. Looks like this planchet void is exactly the same shape and in the same location as this coin also an 1840 SLD. https://www.ebay.com/itm/384913292683 I like the coin. Looks like it's no longer there. Did you buy it? Lovely reverse. Obverse is middling eye appeal. The coin in the ebay listing linked above is straight PCGS F12 and offered for $625 but I don't think it's as nice as the one in this thread. Taking a second look, I guess it's the same coin. I guess Coast coin already bought the coin and slabbed it. LOL.

No I have not bought it . It's on a list of a few I'm considering with my coin money I have but I'm really trying to find a 1876 Philly Trade dollar first that's not trash or super overpriced like the AU-50 on the bay |
