Just silver bullion. I go once a week to the coin shop and check out if he got anything new, sometimes I get something (like the 1876 Indian head a few weeks ago) , we he doesn't have anything I'm working on I go and BS for a little and either get an ASE or a few silver dimes. I was going to get an ASE but the $12 over spot premium is pretty high, even the owner said hold off for a few weeks. So I got some dimes. My goal is $50 face in dimes, I'm at $44.50.

hfjacinto I used to do that with 1964 Kennedy halves whenever I had some spare money. Dig around in a tubful and find a few clean UNC's. For a while I bought worn walkers, but started thinking about the money I lost by buying shortweight coins.

Quote: I read chocolate cultivation is predicted to crash in 10-15 years and will become expensive. Does that mean my chocolate bar will become legal tender?

Buy in gloom, sell in doom. Don't worry. If you are in there for the long term, price fluctuation should not bother you. In 1975, one of my coins sold for $125, and went through a dealer some years later, and is now up for sale again at public auction. Estimate? $1,200. It has increased in price over 46 years at double the average inflation rate for the same period. Moral to this? - Hang in there for the long term, and will your stash to your kids. That is what I intend to do.

While the current US Fed interest rate hikes are giving US metals stackers conniptions, the Euro is also at rock bottom. The cure for inflation gives everyone conniptions. Investopedia has an interesting comparison of different measures of inflation. https://www.investopedia.com/articl...iceindex.aspComparing the rates of inflation in 2006, the cost-of-living based CPI rose 2.2%, while a cost-of-goods index rose 5.3% (Williams) and a cost-of-metals index (Ranson) rose 8.2%. When governments clamp on the brakes with interest rates to control inflation they make fiat currencies look more attractive, dampening metals prices. But over the long term metals have outperformed the currencies, and there is no going back.

It would make sense for silver to fall in price as we enter a recession as it has in the past. Historically gold has done the opposite.

Not in the silver bullion market, but if I was, I would be more interested at pre 2020 price levels
All of my comparatively small stash of World coin silver has come at below ASW melt prices.
