Not sure. He may want the pics (since yours are always so good), just to show progression. Looks to be about a year before he starts taking new ones though.

Slight coin wrapper damage on the obverse side of thus coin. (But minor)

Other examples struck by this reverse die show a Retained Cud in this location. So either the Retained Cud fell away before your coin was struck, or it receded so deeply below the plane of the die face that its working face failed to contact the planchet represented by your coin.
Error coin writer and researcher.

Thanks Mike, so those indentations on the listed coin represent a designless Retained Cud and are not PMD?

Nice one CoinHi! I know I'm late but I recently aquired one of these and it appears to have remnants of the devices still imparted on part of the Cud. I was researching it and came across this post.

Thanks gsp193, I meant to send this one in to CudsonCoins but forgot. I would like to see your coin. As Mike Diamond pointed out in a reply to this topic, The Cud listed (CU-25c-1966-2R) shows a Retained Cud while this coin does not. Does your coin look like the listing?

I think the plate coin three indentations are PMD. Mine may be a partial retained maybe, I am trying to learn about them. It seems it was still in the die but recessed-but a small percent of the device was imparted on one end before it broke away or receeded to far into the die. Hopefully I am understanding Mr Diamond correct.

Gsp193, thanks for posting those photos, your coin looks in great condition. I think yours is a stage in between the plate coin and my coin. Yours has the extra nub on the die crack but not the upper rim progression while still showing some die design. Yes, I believe yours is showing a Retained Cud as Mike mentioned of the other examples seen.

Thanks CoinHi, was glad to! Where is the upper rim progression you mentioned so I will know for future reference. Thanks in advance!

The Cud missing the die resistance opposite that are will leave a weaker design because of the die chip. It happens and confirms that is it a Cud when the metal is not showing on the opposite side area on the coin.
