glad you got the coin Eaglebub - the black dust would be loose flocking from the display box.

Was my initial thoughts too Dearborn. Wiped them with clean tissue, looked more like silicone dust, not fibers

@ dearborn and @datadragon, thanks for the info! It looks like you can get them ungraded these days for around $300 but yeah, a PR70 who knows if it would have made the grade? Anyway I figure if she ever shows an interest in coins some day I will buy her a several new ASEs or a nice Indian Half Eagle to ease my guilt!

Kind of disappointed in this years ASE's from the W mint. I've not seen an ASE so grainy looking, even on the rim. Tried taking pics when I received a couple days ago. Didn't like the look so, waited a bit for good sunny day, for better natural lighting and...They look like this under a loupe also. Anyone else seeing this?

I went ahead and cancelled my order of 5 that has been delayed due to the "credit card database issue." Since I already received my separate subscription of the one I decided to send it in for grading and just cancel the others. We can chalk it up to me wanting to save the money.
The customer service rep said that the order "was simply on a DC hold, which just means that the warehouse is waiting for more inventory." I suspect that if that is true, then it's a secondary issue to that credit card issue they reported.
I decided that whatever grade I get back from the one is good enough for me. At this point I'll take the savings of $400 to help me fight inflation expenses.

I sent them 2 separate emails, inquiring about the email I got with the "payment Processor" problem and inquired what's going on, since many folks are getting their sub's delivered as well as online orders, so why am I being penalized. The 1st reply was pure Mint Manure, telling me how to update my credit card on file (I had done that months prior anyway). So didnt even address my question. The 2nd reply of Mint Manure was that fulfillment was waiting for more coins. If that were true, ALL orders should be delayed and the "payment processor" error would be irrelevant. Aggravated at this point. Thinking of giving up on ASE's. Argh.

I'm sure you will get them, just strange about the delays regardless of the actual reason considering the ordering pages still show as available to buy and both the proof coin and congratulations set 2023 show inventory, availableCount is 10598 for congratulations set and 68159 for the proof coin at the moment. Last update posted on the shipping said by March 29th so not long from now. Waiting for things to arrive you buy can be hard for some people...

Unfortunately, today is the 30th and still no change... called the Mint today, and just they just say "sorry for the delay, shipping them out as fast as they can, give it more time..." no other explanations or reasons.

All my subscriptions have been spot on and I've received items quickly. I hope we don't have the problems with subscriptions when the Morgan's and Peace dollars come out later this year.

There are still over 47k available. I'd be surprised if this piece sells out at this rate, but maybe some of the big boys will scoop up large chunks of them as the year goes on.
