I just had one shipment of coins from Hungary that took over 5 weeks to arrive and the very next one took 6 days.

Probably showing times from Eastern time zone?

This would put that event two minutes before you captured it.

Well first off as for the time I captured it, it was a few minutes before that (at 0619 Local time) It took time to edit the initial image, then re-capture it with the desk-top showing the actual time (of the re-re-capture)

And if they use 'Eastern time', why did they use 'Local time' on the events just preceding the future one?

Maybe it was local to whoever was updating the events.

Kidding aside, it was just a thought. People's failure to account for time zones has bitten me so many times in the past, so it is my go-to explanation for most chaos!

I frequently get emails saying my items have been delivered to my mailbox 3 - 4 hours before they actually arrive. Karnak the Magnificent has been revived!

This is a driver not wanting to forget to scan it when they delivered it, so they scanned it when they loaded the truck. The confidence they have to think they would remember to deliver something they otherwise might have forgotten to scan.

Thats pretty good..

.but when I REALLY want to know the events from the future, I'll just call family over in Australia and ask them to tell me the headlines from the current newspaper since its already tomorrow over there...maybe even grab the lottery numbers, stock pricing, or final bids on coin auctions to bid 1cent higher

Nobody knows what time it is in Arizona since they don't observe daylight saving time.

With a little luck and some Congressional cooperation, no one in the USA will have to worry about that ever again.

Don't get me started with the USPS. They informed me today that a UK package was to be delivered when it was delivered yesterday. The same package shipped from the UK and first showed up in LA. Then it shipped to NY, and then back to Sacramento. From there it went to my local post office. . It's not the first time they have done this with packages from the UK.

My classic story is the day I got a notice that they tried a delivery and I was not home (I was and the security camera shows they did not bother to knock, just posted the notice). So the next day I went to the local post office to get it. At first they could not find it, but I sent them back again to look and they finally found it. Ten minutes later I arrived back home to see another notice on my door, that they again tried to deliver the same package while I was out.... the one I had in my hands. They actually lied on the notice.

Two weeks ago, I received email that a pickup request was completed. I went outside and found a delivery made, but under it was the package they said that they picked up. While I am standing there a USPS truck pulls up and I walk up to the guy and asked him, "you looking for this?" He was confused and looked at some paperwork he had, scanned the package and took it. Minutes later I got another email saying the package was picked up.... again.

I am still waiting for that package from Canada from 2021......

On the contrary - we in AZ (most of it) are the only ones that actually know what the time is, as we don't bounce back an forth twice a year.

@mestephil: It sounds like your local USPS is a bit lost at most times...

My carrier rings my doorbell to get my signature for packages requiring none, and she leaves the ones requiring one on the door step without ringing.

I am afraid of her.... too much power....
