Thanks all for the awesome comments! As for not grading something because it is easy to see, well there are times when that is appropriate but when coins start getting into the couple hundred dollar range people want them slabbed. This one seems like a solid 64 with a rainy day shot at 65, so likely in the $250+ range. It's borderline full steps which would bump that up a little bit as well. But That kinda wonky rim on the reverse gives me pause. Even a 63 would still be okay, but a details grade would be a massive waste of money. The rim is some kind of lightly smashed rim finning.

Nice example and I can't see this one getting a "Details" grade but then again I was sure I'd win the lottery the last time I played. LOL.

Update: The grade is in. The trueview images aren't up yet but I got the grades for this submission.
It graded PCGS MS65 (no FS so guess they didn't think it was full steps)
So the answer here is, of course, yes it needed graded as now worth a lot of money vs a RAW coin. Easy to know that answer in hindsight, but always useful to have a conversation before submitting, and then see how it all turns out after submitting.

Just a lovely coin that shows off both the doubling and also the classic shimmer of a War Nickel. Congrats on the grade! =)

Yes, looks like a light fingerprint, which wouldn't affect the technical grade. Congrats on a nice result on a great looking coin!

Yeah, it's a light fingerprint, which as noted doesn't affect the grade. It's a lower eye appeal which can affect price, but lots of coins have fingerprints and you just have to be able to see the coin not the minor issues.
