https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin...fs-403/37376My still-learning guess at the grade would be 15-20. It doesn't look cleaned or damaged, so the coin would probably grade straight. The PCGS price guide in that grade range is $1000, but the population is so thin that number might not mean much. Other folks with considerably more experience will give better insights. That is one heck of a find, congratulations!

Wow, that Great Collections auction had 39 bids and a closing price of $2850. The coin sold does not look as nice as this one, either.

This is a very nice example. There are no known Mint State examples.
I will call this one a VF35 and the value will be close to $5K in my opinion. Wonderful example.

Rick Snow has multiple for sale right now, both in VF20, and both listed for $4000. Yours is way better. Monster find!

Gosh, that could be the best "accidental purchase" I've ever seen on here.

I'm rather curious how much the 30 coin lot cost. Probably not $4000-5000.

Thank you for your insights! I am super stoked to have found this variety. The lot of 30 coins only cost me about $200, so to have this type of a find is incredible. I'll probably try to get the coin graded by PCGS. From there, what do you think my best option is to maximize the amount that I can sell the coin for? I have an ebay store that I already sell coins on. Would it likely sell better at a major auction house though? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Other than your orig TPG, shipping and insurance fees...Great Collection has zero seller fees for coins that sell for 1K or more... I may be missing something here...but I think this might be your best bet...? You could also send to Rick Snow and have him submit on your behalf and have it Eagle Eye stickered after he rec'v it back from PCGS and pay the fees to him for submitting...? Probably take about 3 months and $200 in total...Pretty sure a Snow stamp/sticker of approval could only increase it's value... https://www.indiancent.com/Get in touch with the expert...he's a great guy...easy to talk to...and he might even make you an offer you can't refuse...? ; ) Let us know what you decide. Congrats on the dilemma! Love stories like this! smat

Might consider consigning it to Rick Snow. Think he charges 10%, but he will get the most for it.
Greatcollections would be the best auction house, but people bid a little less than book, knowing there is a premium. It all comes out to about the same.
If it were me, I would let Rick sell it.

And I can't argue with RedRaider... He has more dealings with Rick then I have and has quite the impressive collection of V&E's along w/patterns that will make your head spin... He knows his stuff! smat

That's a huge coin. To cherry-pick my example I had to spend $350+ and it's a G details, beat and environmentally damaged but still brought hundreds at auction.raw. Less than 120 of these I've counted to exist, and trust me there's very few to cherry-pick anymore. I've tried! Huge congratulations!
