well the reason I stopped by to check you all out is because of the artificial posts on the PCGS boards, (can I mention that by name) ? I'm not interested in posting just for the sake of, thats the main reason I strayed from the "other board" and I understand I will have to establish myself, hopefully I can share what I know and I'm sure I could learn a thing or two. already I see there are others that share my interest ! how many of you guys are from the seated boards ? I dont know if I would consider myself a coin nut superdave, I just got a thing for the girl on the rock !

Quote: because of the artificial posts on the PCGS boards, (can I mention that by name) Yes, feel free, as long as you use the appropriate level of disrespect due a board of such hard-handed, top-driven, my-way-or-the-highway micromanagement. Gee, Dave, how do you really feel about it?

Good luck on your quest for Seated dimes. I sold a beautiful XF/AU 1856s dime in 1978 for $100 as part of a group of coins I sold to raise money for the down payment on my first house. I wish I could buy that coin back now for sentimental reasons, my dad had found it in circulation as a kid working in my grandfathers restaurant. Of course with what I sold the house for 22 years later (have to love Ca real estate during that time frame), I came out way ahead but still wish I could get the coin back.

There are a lot of neat low mintage dates in the dime series, also in the other series as well. But the dimes are just kinda neat.
I used to get them in junk silver, back about 10 years ago, and hoarded them all, along with the Barbers that I found in there.

Just got this 1840 O Seated Liberty dime yesterday. The coin is better then the picture from the auction. (It usually doesn't work this way! PLEASANT surprise!)

Wow. She has got to be AU-50. She may be younger, but she has really held up much better too!
