The E & D in United look like the 801. I think you got it gigi.

100% FS-801, really great find!
The splits on the S's and the first A in AMERICA are undeniable.

Have to agree with a match for FS-801. Tougher to see all the signs on a heavily circulated coin, but even the examples shown on VV are not very good. Nice Find!

Hi guys sorry in the delay on reply, but as I have aneurysm in my head if I don't sleep well I wll end up in the hospital Thank you Brandmeister I know is confused because of the wear of the coin. Thank you Chase007!! but I never had any doubts about it being doubled die, my doubt was if it was fs-801 as this coin is old and worn by circulation there are some doubling hide it, but you can clearly see the split in the S's and the A's of States and the first A of America, also United show a very clean doubling. This is my first time finding DDR on quarter, but I found a lot of matching doubling, So I could tell the difference quickly when I put this coin under my microscope between DD and MD Thank you coin rejector!! Thank you Tanman2001 to confirming that this coin is 100% FS-801 Thank you Tacc! yes you right! Thank you Errers and Varietys and jbuck!! My question is what do you think what grade could this coin be, and what value it could has? It is worth sending to the grading company? Thanks in advance guys

Quote: My question is what do you think what grade could this coin be, and what value it could has? Around VF30. This is tough to price as these are extremely rare. There are only 8 graded out there. 1x MS, 1x AU, 3x XF, and 3x VF. The CherryPickers' Guide didn't even put a price on it in the latest edition because of how few sales there have been. The most comparable sale is a PCGS VF Details example that sold for $118 on GC October 2017. So I'd guess this is worth a few hundred dollars.

The only straight graded coin I could find that sold was an XF45 back in 2012 for $920. As long as the coin doesn't look cleaned it will grade straight, and yes probably in the VF range. I'd put it in a PCGS slab for sure. It may seem like a low grade, but the quarter registry folks are mostly blank for this one so they should bid it up nicely just to get one at all.

Thank you Brandmeister!! Thank you tropicalbats!! I'm not sure if I will be able to send it to PCGS because I don't have a membership with them, but I think NGC and ANAC are cheaper than PCGS. Also this will my first time doing that so I have to figure out how is the process for send the coin to them.

I totally understand how expensive it is to submit to PCGS, what with the "club" fee, the return shipping being around $35 and a $10 form fee just to get a coin in plastic. But they are the best place for a registry grade coin, which yours is, as that what the big money collectors go for. I'd be happy to piggyback it on one of my submissions if you'd like, but I just sent in all my PCGS stuff so it'll be a few months before I have enough coins at that level to be worth making a submission. Just something to think about as you'd save the club fee, and the shipping and form fees get less per-coin if you have more coins on the same form.

Awesome find! I haven't started working on clad varieties yet. They are much harder to come by than silver. Simply because the silver coins were hoarded by many.

Oh thats nice of you tropicalbats! Meanwhile I will be thinking what to do, but whent you are ready to send yours to PCGS please let me know, so in case I haven't send it yet I could send it together with your submissions, thanks for that!! I also will update here in case I decided to send it to PCGS by myself. Thank you Willburton!!
