I had to return 2 of the coins I received yesterday

A 2105 P Kennedy Presidential dollar that had a badly scratched up holder

It had a current label and I got a great deal on it, so that was a bummer

They are supposed to exchange it for another but we will see

And a 1979 Type 2 SBA - It was supposed to be the newest label and it even had my prefered label format but they shipped one with a 2001 era label

I did a search and came up with this
Yes, that is it. Just replaces Johnson's smug mug with Ike.

The collection thus far

This is what I consider to be the "low hanging fruit" of what I currently want

I still need the Bush C&Cs Reverse Proof but it always has the version of the label that I like for the C&C coins so now I just have to wait for a good deal

13 of these will be submitted for reholders with the simple Brown Label and 2 Line Text Format

Next I will work on the 3 3 ASEs that I want, BUT I don't want to submit them for reholders so finding 2 of them with the correct period brown labels will be difficult

The 2019 S is easy but the 1995 W and 2008/2007 always seem to be reversed, which doesn't make sense to me

I was going reholder my Truman and Ike with the newer style label but was offered a good deal on a Truman with the new label, so I bought it.

As long as I can sell the version with the older label for what I paid I'll be good.

I don't mind this format but only for the C&C Reverse Proofs

I only paid about $40 for the Ike so it will get reholdered with the rest of the batch because there is no way I'll find one with the new lable for that price

The custom text was a long shot, even though I thought they might like another line item for the tab.

If you are a multimillionaire or billionaire coin collector, NGC and PCGS will do anything you want.

I got a decent deal on an Ike Coins & Chronicles PF 69 with the new style label that I like for the C&C Reverse Proofs

So now all 6 of my C&Cs Reverse Proofs have the correct label for my collection

Here's a pic of them with the single slab I was able to buy with the label format that I like

I upgraded the Ike for multiple reasons

• I was going to send NGC 12 slabs for the reholder process, 11 for the standard brown label with the 2 line text format
• The Ike was going to be a different format and I was worried they would make a mistake
• Plus the standard shipping and handling fees are based on 10 submissions, this gets me down to 11
• I think I can replace one of the 11 remaining slabs with a coin that has the correct label to get my total submissions down to 10

This is the lot I plan to send to NGC

I should be able to unload this older style Ike and Truman on ebay for a decent return

I just sold the 2nd of the 2 Presidential RPs I listed on ebay

After fees and shipping I made tiny profit of a couple dollars but at least I didn't lose money

Not looking to buy it but just came across this in my browsing. I'm not too familiar with how NGC labels things but this one just shows "Brilliant Uncirculated" Not even an MS grade? Is there a reason for that?

I see that quite a bit with "Early Releases" of ASE's. The Bulk Buyers are looking to get their pre-sales into slabs as soon as they can and NGC accomodates them with the BU designation; quite a few of the 2024(P) Bullion ASE's with the Star Privy were sold with that or "GEM UNCIRCULATED" followed by "One of first 50,000 Issued" on the next line of the label.

@Boba Debt : Thank you for sharing the photos and the stories behind your acquisitions. Interesting thread to follow.

@cptbilly

You're welcome

I've always wanted some slabs in my collection, but I never really had a reason until I discovered they could be reholdered.

That gave me the perfect excuse to put together a "reference" style set.

Here is another one that drives me crazy. I was thinking of adding a graded 2017-P Lincoln Cent since it was the only one that has the P mint mark on it but they put them in the holder to show the shield. That's not want I want to see. I know you can get them to be placed either direction when you have them graded but finding one that way...good luck.
