I understand and I want to thank you for your input, I wasnt aware they used these tactics. I was debating on wether to remove this post or not and if you all think it would be best I will definately do so. That is the main reason I posted it for the knights and not the main forum so maybe I would get some good input on this company because all of you are alot more knowledgable than I am because of me just starting out and not done business with alot of people. I guess I will just see how it goes but if any of the moderators think this should be removed I understand

Littleton does jack their prices up on the coins on approval. I was on it for a little while and they actually tried selling me a F Mercury dime for 4.50 and a dateless Buffalo nickel for 2.50 and an ASE for 18.00. Needless to say I sent them all back immediately and cancelled the subscription. But I didnt have to pay anything for the shipping and the return trip was prepaid shipping by them.

I am a happy camper on those firms
Belgian law is very explicit
If somebody sends something you did not order explicitly or under contract you just can keep it and not send it back
I got a lot of usefull things for free because I know the law

Also by law it is forbidden to sell joint contracts
Like you get a cell phone for free if you subscribe for one year

Ageka I don't suppose they ever send out gold on approval do they? If you get things unsolicited here the law will protect you as well but many companies use the "fine print" in their offers which means you MUST have read the offer? Or at least you had the opportunity to read it and failed to do so? They buy on the Eagles is really a great buy at this time so I would take the coins, send the others back and cancel the subscription pretty quickly.

I see no reason to remove the link to Littleton. While they are a little pricey, they do accurately grade their coins. The potential issues with purchasing from them have been covered in the posts above.

By the way, I moved this to the Main Forum as it is a numismatic topic.

I would have posted it here myself but wanted to get some feedback before I had everyone running for the deal and then it looking bad on the forum if they got put on a list that they would have to cancell to stop them from sending other coins to them. I will also just send back all the coins and cancell the subscription the first time, but I thought I would atleast tell people about them so they could decide if they wanted to do it or not

Abyss the American Eagle is currently in the $13 to $13.50 range at most dealers. If you need some at current prices feel free to email and we can work something out. Glad to help out a friend in need!

If your worried about return postage just don't open the approvals and write return to sender on package then there will be no cost to you to send them back.

Can't you just send them a note along with your order you don't wish to subscribe to their approval service?

They will not risk too much as long as you did not really sign a one year contract explicit or implicit

Typical trials from registered non profit organisations are sending half a dozen easter best wishes cards and asking for a 25 euro donation
Sending 100 selfadhesive lables with your address and name on it
Sending a small steel or copper coin and asking for a 25 euro donation
Donations can be substracted from taxes and a lot of whitecoller incomes are in the 65% marginal tax bracket so they get 65% back through tax relieve so that remorse at accepting something for nothing makes this a worthwile endeavor
(The law puts the minimum donation at 25 euro to be elligible for tax reduction )

Since consumer protection organisms have said over and over again that you can keep whatever is send unsollicited they stopped sending relatively expensive items like books etc

On the other hand if you buy a cheap coin like in Germany I saw offers for cheap 1/25th oz gold coins and if the small print says that you accept a coin every month during a year subject to cancellation that would be binding
Cancellation however is often difficult unless you use registerd mail and that eats up all your gains since it costs 5 euro
So no cheap offers for me , too costly or too timeconsuming

Got my 5 2006 8.95 unc. silver eagles today. Also came with a unc 2003 eagle, which they are asking 19.95 for. I am going to send them the money, as I feel they were more than fair about the price on the 2003,(plus, I do not have one) especially since they paid all postage and shipping on it and my 5 2006 eagles.

I also noticed they send a PREPAID envelope with the tryout coin to send back if you do not want it. I think this is fair. If I wish, I can also just call them and cancel anytime....

I read some negative stuff about them in a previous post, but you can judge anytime if what they send is worth it, plus, you actually get to look at it, unlike E-Bay purchases....

I will see how it works out....

So, Definitely NO point for me to look at the site and the prices!
If it can't ship to Canada, It can't ship to Kuwait!
