Same here. I was going so well with my quote starting with We are, but it fell apart.

"Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you." - Carl Sandburg

I will post the code breakdown in few minutes, I need to type it up!

Yes, it is Morse Code.

Consonants are dashes.
Vowels, numbers, and non-alphanumeric symbols are the dots.

It was easy to convert into dots and dashes, but I was never able to determine an exact pattern to where the letter breaks should be.

Every time I thought I had a rule, it broke, so I opted to just tackle it by trial and error, one word at a time.

Once I had enough words to Google the quote, was able to back-fill the decoding process.

My decoding to follow...

JBuck you are the MAN!! Nice Work!! (Obviously, I apologize for the coding errors. I only checked it about 6 times! That's one of the MAJOR problems doing this coding stuff!)

WINNER!!

PM me your address again and I'll get your cool Morgan in the mail!

Thanks to all that played!

Most impressive. I was trying the opposite, with the consonants as dots.

Thanks everyone. Moe, PM sent!

I will give you my take on the hints, I am sure Moe can fill in the actual intentions.

Hint # 1: Ditsy = Crazy or unpredictable. Sometimes Dots and Dashes are called Di(t)s and Dahs. A Dit is for Dots located at the end of a character, while Di is for any other Dot. I did not get this until it was revealed that this was Morse Code.

Hint # 2: Reiner. Carl Reiner, gave me Carl Sandburg

Hint # 3: It is NOT a Rob Reiner quote Goes with Hint #2

Hint # 4: "Sweet V!" I have no idea, not even now!

Hint # 5: Kardashian Hint at 'Dashes' not realized until Hint #8

Hint # 5: SFBM. Samuel Finley Breese Morse

Hint # 6: Charlestown. Morse was born in Charlestown, MA.

Hint # 7: "periods" and "hyphens" are your friends... 'Dots' and 'Dashes' of Morse Code.

Hint # 7: "Moe-Twisted" form of Morse code?" Yes. Moe acknowledging it was Morse Code.

Hint # 8: "Khloe has constant consonants" Led me to think that Consonants were 'Dashes' based on Hint #5. Khloe Kardashian is a reality TV star, among other things.

Hint # 9: Everything else is rubbish! Led me to think that numbers, vowels, and non alphanumeric characters were 'Dots'

JBuck truly solved the puzzle including virtually all the clues! Totally well done!

Obviously the code was based on Morse code, with the dashes being consonants and the dots/dits being anything else but consonants on the keyboard.

The only clue JBuck didn't get is "Sweet V". It refers to Sandburg's description of Chicago as the "City of Broad Shoulders". (Seen from behind thus giving an V shape to one's body. Tough one, I know!)

My original intention was to give more clues on the quoter/author of the quote. Then I realized I wanted to actually give more clues on SOLVING the puzzle, so I didn't give anymore quoter clues. SO, the clue was left by itself, making it very tough to catch. And, Carl Sandburg was mentioned pretty early in the game. (And since no one actually asked me if it was correct, I did not confirm or deny the author's name!

See you for the next one!

The Kardashian sisters have a clothes line called DASH, clues for the Morse code.

Well done to all! A super props to JBuck!

I never would have gotten that, and I am from Chicago!

True. I never asked, but I did make a statement.

Quote:
I think Carl Reiner is referring to Carl Sandburg. Flat Rock, North Carolina is a short drive from here.
I took your silence as the answer I expected, since you were quick to say it was not Rob Reiner!
