Great Purchase! Some CC Seated Liberty dimes are pretty cheap and are very affordable, versus the Twenty Cent Pieces, Quarters, Halves, and Silver Dollars.

I'm with you 100% on this one. While MS coins are nice to look at, sometimes the coins your able to hold and not be worried about bring the most satisfaction. Nice coin and nice buy!

Awesome. Nice for the grade, no distractions, and you can hold it in your hand and think about where it's been. How could you not like a coin such as this?

Very nice dime. It appears to have a tiny bit of luster remaining in the protected areas. Maybe it's just the pictures, either way if it was my coin I would hold it but not rub it between my fingers ;). There is certainly something magical about coins with a "CC" on the reverse.

Nice pickup! I have both the above wreath cc (like this one) and the below wreath 1875 cc as part of my cc set.

XF or even XF+ details with a very weak reverse strike. There's really not all that much wear on the obverse if you look close.

I agree 100% with you TDColl. The only problem I have with is it is that I didnt see it on ebay and take a shot at it.

I love mid-level circulated no problem 19th century coins.

i dont know why, but the "CC" looks way to separated to me. I've seen CC dimes before below and above, but why deos it seem odd to me? I dont know. anyone else see something?

a few to compare to pics I found..

SDcoinguy, about 4.6 million of these were minted, using 8 rev. dies. The c's were punched individually into the working dies sent from Pa. There are all sorts of variations in CC mintmark configurations.

According to Breen, mintages of small denom silver coins was high so as to retire fractional currency, once Congress had passed a Specie Resumption Act.

Well said; I too like to be able to hold & feel history in my fingers. Sometimes circulated coins are the best.

Very nice purchase. I'm an occasional buyer of 1875-77 CC Seated dimes and quarters in the F to EF range.
