There is some value but usually not a premium. I really don't know cause I usually collect coins not bills. I know star notes adds some extra cost to the bill.

Very nice haul! As XG pointed out the $2 notes are not gold certificates but are United States Notes as they say above the portrait and around me dealers typically pay around $3 - $4 for them in circulated condition. I hit several bank branches around me and it has been a long time since I've gotten an old $2 bill. You're having a great weekend.

Nice haul! I grew up in norwood, too bad the old Fidelity Federal Bank went out of business! I really wish I had roll searched when I was growing up.
IF you are willing to drive, I bet Batavia, lebanon, or Milford would be good places to hit. There are a TON of small towns around Cincy!
Too bad I live in Cali now. LOL

Ok. So they are red notes. That is why I collect coins not bills. Plus a downside is that bills don't last long in circulation. Plus would you Taylor buy a G-4 quarter or a G-4 bill. coins last longer and they actually hold value other than what they say its worth on the front. good metals I'm some of them

I'm glad I started collecting when I was 17. I ALREADY have about complete sets of Washington quarters silver and clad, Roosevelt dimes, and a set of Mercury dimes I found for silver value about a year ago. Now I'm 19. I still got a long way to go in order to buy gold.

My girlfriend does not see the point in why I do it. I do it because it keep me busy and make me happy. I am glad that I picked up this hobby such a longtime ago and I will never stop being a numistitic.

Decided to hit banks in Oxford Ohio. Result: Plenty of $2 bills (nothing special, star notes or silver certificates/us note) Halves:30 found (that I have not gone through) and 1 40% silver piece and a few MS coins.
