I like this coin. I have one in my Roosevelt Dansco and one in my 7070 Type set Dansco.
To me this is a coin to keep a eye out for and if you can buy one a a good price get it.

i bought mine in the mint cello for $10 with $2 shipping. I'm going to buy a few but only if they are in that price range. $13 is good too.

I'd say the 96-W is great for collectors, not so much for investors. I've got one in my Dansco as well, purchased as part of a Mint set in 1996 In nearly 70 years of the Roosevelt dime, the 96-W is about the only exciting thing that's happened in that series.

Great dime. I have one in my proof Dansco. I bought a 96 mint set for the sole purpose of getting that dime. I will continue to snag them whenever I see a good deal on them. they get into change the same way NIFC Kennedy halves do. More times than not a kid getting into dads coin collection. I found several mint and proof sets my useless crack %^&*( sister broke open from my fathers collection. Unfortunately it happens all too often. That is followed by the non coin collector getting a mint set collection from ucle Bob and having NO clue what it is and spending it on their weekly case of PBR and Marlboros. Then followed by the older person whos social security check isn't quite cutting it but they have those coins they have been saving... Things like that.

I love the 1996w dime also. I paid $12 for mine last year. I wish they would have put the W mint mark on all the other cents and quarters that were minted there over the years also. But I am curious. I have the Roosevelt dime Dansco album 7125 that I got last year. It does not have a slot for the 1996w (mine is still in a flip). Is this only included in the 8125, which includes the proofs?

perfessor, yes, the 8125 is the one I have. Here is a pic of the page.. As you can see, I have been concentrating more on other books...mainly my Kennedy book. And close up of the dime in question...

I found my 1996-W at my favorite local coin shop! It was in the bargain bin...and I asked..everything in this bin is one dollar a piece right? And he said you know that. So I said...I'll take this dime then!

I got mine in a box of dimes. I usually look at each date, and it paid off for once.
